
Mellisa Michael, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Northeastern Illinois University. She went on to complete her Master of Social Work (MSW) at Loyola University Chicago, with a specialization in Children and Families.
Mellisa brings a wealth of experience from working with diverse populations in a variety of settings, including NorthShore University HealthSystem, Rush University Medical Center, Advocate Health, school environments, and community mental health organizations. Her areas of focus include depression, anxiety, substance use, postpartum depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and self-harm/harm reduction.
Dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming space for all clients, Mellisa believes in meeting people where they are. She is passionate about fostering a therapeutic environment where every client feels seen, heard, and empowered to be their true, authentic selves.
Mellisa incorporates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when appropriate, always tailoring her methods to meet the unique needs of each individual.
